pencil holder

This cool little pencil holder was made out of just a hunk of wood. Caleb drilled holes for pencils to fit in so which ever direction you're facing you can reach a pencil.

My oven Mitts

For my mom who didn't have any,  I made her these oven mitts for Christmas. I made them by tracing other mitts on fabric, cutting out the traces, and sewing them together. Then I stuffed them. After that I had half an oven mitt.  I did all that again and sewed the two halves together. After that I had one oven mitt!

Dying Wool

we got two kilos of natural white hand spun sheep wool.  we decided to dye it.

                                                                 the original color

we had four colors: red-hibiscus tea, yellow-turmeric, blue and purple-food coloring

after the yarn sat in the dye for a long time we washed it out.

                                                                   then we dried them.

these are the finished colors (they are actually brighter than in the pictures)

Bush rat Beginning

Caleb's bush rat will be our first team creation to share.  Living in South Sudan caused us to be creative with our gift giving. Caleb made Larissa a bush rat  shoe scraper for her birthday from twisted wire and a scrub brush. Larissa didn't like having three inches of mud caked on her shoes from gardening so Caleb made her a cool little bush rat.
